Untitled (pregnancy menswear)
This garment explores non-female and transgender pregnancy through suiting. This series explores how design can normalize and remake stigmatized assumptions between gender, sex, fertility, and parenthood. Blurring boundaries between gender, sex, fertility, and vulnerability, the garment is designed to appear as a sketch of an idea, and is created in silk and rigid boning.
The design was informed by a series of conversations with trans and nonbinary persons regarding fertility. It is an ongoing project.
