Ephemeral Permanence

In the Spring of 2009 wanted to make drawings that were liberated from my own preconceived notions of how to draw or represent.  I would set up experiments that where temporal dimensions of an encounter could be recorded.  One of these drawings came from the act of a handshake.  Another is a negotiation with a leak.  Another came from the dance of a sexual encounter.

I was exploring drawing as a means to record ephemeral events.   Scripted by the act itself, it was an attempt to liberate the marks from ego, cultural notions and agenda.
